In the midst of OTT wars where all platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, etc. are fighting to come out on top, Youtube is one of the most popular video streaming platforms. Youtube is a freemium app, that displays ads to earn money. And if you want to skip the ads, you will need to buy Youtube premium subscription. While YouTube is undoubtedly one of the best free video streaming platforms available, so whats better way to pull consumers then by giving them a taste of what premium feels like.

Currently when you want to share your premium with your friend, you need to share your account. But now Android Police spotted a new page in YouTube’s help section that reveals that soon you might be able to kind-off share your YouTube Premium with your friend.

YouTube Premium Sharing

YouTube Premium users can now share up to 10 ad-free videos each month with non-premium users. This gives users a taste of what they are missing out on premium, the ad-free experience. Once someone clicks on the link, he/she will get an uninterrupted ad-free experience of that video. Premium users can share all the videos ad-free except the music, YouTube Originals, Shorts, Livestreams, and Movies & Shows.

Who Will Get This Feature?

Google’s only testing this sharing feature in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. This is still an experimental feature and is being tested with a limited number of YouTube Premium subscribers only.

How To Share YouTube Premium with Friends

If you are a YouTube Premium subscriber, then you can try this feature by tapping the Share button on a video's watch page, selecting Share ad-free, and then either choosing an app to share the link or tapping copy link. There you will also be able to see how many ad-free share you have left for your account.
