And also yesterday, we informed you that there are copyright concerns that have been raised by Intellectual property lawyer Evan Brown. But now it is confirm as per MoneyControl reports that Open AI has now banned the Ghibli Studio Art feature.

In this article we will discuss the full story so without any further ado, let’s get into it.

How Ghibli Took Over the Internet?

Open AI recently announced their new Ghibli Studio Art transforming feature that instantly took over the internet as many famous celebrities started creating their own Ghibli Art and started publishing it as their post. However, many people were unable to create their own art from yesterday itself due to copyright concerns. That is the reason we were also unable to show you some samples in this article. In yesterday’s article, we also explained how you can create the Ghibli Studio art for your picture.

Open AI Facing Copyright Concerns

As soon as the trend took off, there were concerns raised for copyright infringement. Emmanuel Sa, the co-founder of Sketch, criticized OpenAI on Twitter for using Miyazaki's work without permission to generate images. His tweet went viral, and in it, he pointed out the unfairness of an AI company making billions of dollars by profiting from an artist's style who will likely only earn a fraction of that in their lifetime. Sa called the situation "rotten, very rotten."

Looking at the backlash, OpenAI soon changed its position and banned these prompts from their AI. Now as we mentioned in yesterday’s article, we see ChatGPT replying – "I wasn't able to generate the image because the request didn't follow our content policy. Let me know if you'd like me to adjust the request or create a different type of illustration!"

The 84-year-old filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki, is known for his hand-drawn animation and deep storytelling. He has been openly critical of AI-generated art, and in 2016, he called AI-driven animation an "insult to life itself." The recent controversy has once again brought Miyazaki's views on AI back into the spotlight.

This is not the end for debate of AI vs Artists. AI companies have been criticized for not taking the initiative to protect artists' rights, instead only making changes in response to the pressure they face from public.

Can You Still Make Ghibli Studio Style Art with your ChatGPT?

Yes, at the time of writing this this article, we were able to create 3 Ghibli Style pictures.
