One standout feature is Comet Assistant, an AI sidekick that lives alongside your tabs and offers real-time help. It can peek at the page you're viewing and instantly answer questions about it. Think of it like having a digital co-pilot that keeps your tabs organised, your tasks sorted, and your digital life moving with fewer clicks.

Currently, Comet is limited to Perplexity Max users—those who pay a steep $200/month subscription—but a wider rollout is expected through invites later this summer.

OpenAI Has a Browser Too—And It's Almost Here

Not to be outdone, OpenAI is reportedly preparing to launch its own browser in the coming weeks, according to sources who spoke to Reuters. While OpenAI hasn’t officially announced it, the browser is expected to lean heavily into ChatGPT-style interactions.

Instead of the usual “search, click, scroll” routine, this browser could offer something entirely different—a more natural, chat-driven experience. You ask a question, and it gives you an answer. No bouncing between tabs, no scanning walls of text—just what you need, when you need it. It's less of a traditional browser and more of a digital concierge powered by AI.

In short, AI browsers aim to redefine the browsing experience. Rather than relying on search results and manual digging, these tools can:
