New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: After removing the FUP limit on voice calls, telecom operators Vodafone-Idea and Bharti Airtel have introduced three new prepaid plans offering 1 GB data for a period up to 56 days. The new prepaid plans of Rs 219, Rs 399 and Rs 449 are likely to affect Reliance Jio for the first time in the last three years after removing the FUP limit on off-net calling. The first prepaid plan of the above three is the same as the Rs 169 plan that has surged by Rs 50. The other two plans are an addition by the telcos with a validity period of 56 days. Airtel, in particular, has made these plans official on its social media handles.
Rs 219 prepaid plan will offer 100 SMS, 1 GB data and unlimited voice call on a daily basis for a period of 28 days with other benefits from Airtel such as Hello Tunes, Unlimited Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream subscription. Rs 399 plan will offer 1.5 GB data, 100 SMS and unlimited voice calling facility across India, while in its Rs 449 plan, Airtel is offering Rs 449 plan providing 90 SMS per day for a period of 56 days.
Similarly, Vodafone-Idea has also started prepaid plans worth Rs 219, Rs 399 and Rs 449.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is providing only 2,000 non-Jio minutes to its users in its Rs 399 and Rs 444 plans, after which the calls to the above telecom network, including MTNL will cost Rs 6 paise per minute. After exhaustion of the pack, you can recharge with a minimum amount of RS 10 to make voice calls with Airtel and Vodafone-Idea customers.
Earlier last month, the above three companies had announced an increase in prices of its plans owing to losses in the previous quarter and Supreme's court AGR rules that had a negative impact on these telecom operators. The companies had raised plans by as much as 43 per cent on December 3.
