Airtel AI Powered Fraud Detection: Bharti Airtel has launched a new AI-based fraud detection solution aimed at protecting users from the growing threat of online scams. The system works across major OTT and communication platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and others, blocking access to malicious websites in real time.

When a user tries to open a harmful site flagged by Airtel’s security system, they’ll be redirected to a warning page outlining the risk instead of the site itself.

How Airtel’s New System Works

In its official announcement, Airtel detailed how the technology operates through a multi-layered intelligence platform powered by artificial intelligence. The system filters DNS (Domain Name System) queries, checking if a domain appears on a known blocklist or violates security policies. If flagged, access is blocked instantly.

Safe websites load normally, but suspicious links are intercepted across devices—offering users a seamless layer of protection.

Rising Online Threats Spark Proactive Action

With scams becoming more sophisticated than ever—from simple OTP fraud to highly complex schemes—Airtel says this latest move is part of its broader effort to secure users in today’s digital-first world.

The company noted that the service operates in real time across browsers, emails, SMS, and apps such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Best of all, the fraud detection is automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers, free of charge.

Currently, the feature is live in Haryana, with plans for a nationwide rollout soon.

More AI Tools from Airtel

This launch follows Airtel’s earlier expansion of its AI-based spam detection tools. The service now supports alerts in ten regional Indian languages—including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi—on top of English. It notifies users of potential spam calls and messages, enhancing awareness and security.
