ANDROID 14 is now one of the most anticipated software updates which all tech enthusiasts and Android lovers are looking up to. Ever since Google announced AI-based features for Android and other services at the Google IO 2023, it has now become a more interesting topic to watch for. In a new update, the California-based technology company would also get an advanced memory protection feature. This came after the information by Esper's Mishaal Rahman on the micro-blogging platform Twitter.
"I found a hidden 'advanced memory protection beta' feature in Android 14," he tweeted. It was previously reported that the tech giant was developing new options for its future system software update that would enable users to select all regional preferences without having to visit the settings menu for each individual program.
As memory safety flaws have emerged as a threat to software development and, in fact, were responsible for the bulk of serious Android vulnerabilities through 2022, memory safety has become one of Google's top priorities. And as a result, the company has been working on memory tagging hinting that the Android 14 capable devices would see advanced memory protection.
In order to lessen the risk of malware, it was also stated that Android 14 will start preventing the installation of apps that target outdated versions of Android. In the meantime, in April of this year, the firm made available to developers and early adopters the first public beta of Android 14 with new features targeted at system navigation, privacy, performance, and user customization.
Meanwhile, a report suggests that the number of active users of Android 13 has increased in the past few months while most of the active users worldwide are still using Android 11 users on their devices. Additionally, the report also suggests that the users would be shifting to Android 13 at a faster pace.
