Android 15 Features: On the second day of Google I/O 2024, Google began pushing out Android 15 Beta 2 to select device holders. With this, some Android 15 features are confirmed. Also, the Android 15 release date is expected to be in the second to third week of October, coinciding with the launch of the new Pixel 9 series. Here's everything we know about Android 15's features and release date.

Android 15 Features:

1. Theft Detection Lock:

Google seems to be working on the safety feature which will keep all your data safe if your device gets stolen or lost. The feature will use AI and when it finds that your device is stolen, it will automatically lock the phone or information till it is deleted.

2. Private Space:

Additional protection for users who love to store their sensitive data including images, apps and more at a separate location. Well, it can also be called the digital safe where you can store your data.

3. Google Maps With AR content:

Google Maps will get the AR content which will offer the users a richer experience while they are navigating. However, there are still questions about the feature, as the reports claim that Google is collaborating with Samsung and Qualcomm to introduce the feature.

4. Real-Time Fraud Protection:

One of the star announcements at the Google I/O 2024 is confirmed to roll out with Android 15. It will be powered by on-device AI and will detect applications with malware and phishing activities in real time.

5. Add Barcode or QR Codes On Google Wallet From Photo:

Android users in the US can now save their documents like tickets, library cards, and auto insurance cards and put a QR code in their wallet for quick access.

6. Entertainment For Cars:

Android Auto gets some major enhancements including the addition of games and streaming platforms. It will also allow the users to cast the video from their phones or tablets.

7. AI on Google TV:

Now your TV will also be able to offer AI-based recommendations to make your content streaming experience. It will also offer AI-generated descriptions on the home screen.

8. Wear OS 5 updates:

WearOS 5 will come with up to 20 per cent more efficiency along with new wearOD that will provide improved fitness tracking. Brands like OnePlus, Oppo and others will offer WearOS with their devices.

9. Improve Fast Pair:

The new Fast Pair can offer battery details of the connected devices (FINALLY) and also allows users to find the misplaced devices using Find My Device.

Android 15 Release Date:

Google has not yet disclosed the Android 15 release date. However, we expect Google will release the updated Android alongside the launch of the new Pixel gadget in October, as it does every year. This means the Pixel 9 series will be the first to run Android 15.
