Google unveiled the Pixel 9 series at its Made By Google 2024 event this month. Apart from the hardware and AI, viewers anticipated an announcement of the new Android 15 at the event. However, the company remained silent at the event concerning the affair. While users await a possible release of the upcoming Android soon, a new report claims the company may not release the OS in September 2024.

According to Android Authority, Android 15 is possibly delayed to improve stability. Because of this reason, the tech giant could unveil the upcoming Android for Google flagships in the middle of October. Plus, Google is reportedly planning to release the source code of the OS next week. This could be different from the trend followed with Android 14.

For context, Google has released the source code and the Pixel Update of the new Android on the same day in the past (with a recent exception being Android 12). This time, the gap between the source code release and Android 15's rollout could span over 30 days. When the news outlet reached out to Google, the spokesperson did not share a response.

Despite the information from the source, journalist Mishaal Rahman cautioned that the release date could change. The last beta has been out for about two weeks. Hence, we can expect a stable version soon. For context, the Android 15 will be available on the Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
