Soon after media reports of Elon Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI gained vogue, Sam Altman revived a conversation with the Tesla CEO via his latest X (formerly Twitter) post. Altman added his fresh remarks to a 2019 post where he sided with Musk for his endeavours at Tesla. For the unaware, the billionaire has sued the AI research and deployment company and claimed it allegedly breached its original agreements around artificial intelligence.
The recent lawsuit has been filed in a San Francisco court in the United States and concerns the company's powerful large language model (LLM) GPT-4. Moving to 2019, the post concerned Altman's remarks that it is "gross" to see people against the electric car manufacturer. The ChatGPT maker also posted back then that betting against the X owner is a mistake "historically".

"It's gross seeing so many root against Tesla. Be the person on the side of the climate and innovation, not the person hoping to make money on puts. Also, betting against Elon is historically a mistake...and the best product usually wins," @sama posted on May 22, 2019. Responding to this, @elonmusk posted: "Thanks Sam" at that time.

Reviving this conversation, Altman replied to this conversation today and said: "anytime" and a salute emoji. Several users have been posting their reactions to the update. A user posted: "CAT FIGHT! CAT FIGHT." Another one said: "This is all going to make a great movie one day." A third one added: "I don‘t think this will make the lawsuit go away man."
Moving to the present, the X owner has alleged that Microsoft and the ChatGPT maker licensed the new GPT-4 technology "improperly" despite agreeing that the artificial general intelligence (AGI) capabilities "would remain non-profit and dedicated to humanity."

Meanwhile, Musk was the company's board member until 2018 and pushed in the lawsuit that OpenAI was expected to be a non-profit entity. However, the recent changes in the board made OpenAI a subsidiary of the Redmond-headquartered tech giant which is a breach of contract, he added.
Musk has put forth similar claims publicly in the past too. For the unaware, Musk has opposed the rapid advancements in AI in recent times induced by OpenAI and other big tech giants. However, he recently launched xAI as a part of his latest AI endeavours.
