Apple announced iOS 18 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. The company also showcased a host of Apple Intelligence features and announced improved Siri that will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Ahead of a wider rollout, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman hints the company may not bring significant AI-powered Siri features at the time of a wider beta release this fall.
The journalist noted the controls over other apps are expected to arrive next year. Siri could control apps and media to help users gain context or get work done. But these features could debut in beta trials for developers in January 2025 and arrive for the public in the spring of next year. This could be the time for the iOS 18.4 update (already in development), as per the Power On newsletter.
Other less flashy Siri tweaks, ChatGPT integration and more could arrive later this year. Apple will unveil the iOS 18 public beta this month. The stable build release of the OS could follow in September this year around the release timeline of the iPhone 16 series. The series will likely include four models and may be eligible for Apple Intelligence features.

Meanwhile, Gurman also highlighted the tech giant is working on AirPods with cameras which could offer AI capabilities to return contextual data during navigation, identification of objects and return information among many use cases. The technology could be included in the AirPods Pro's two-generation later models. The device may go into production in 2026.
Gurman also shared hints about the release of the Apple Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3. While the Series 10 is expected to boast a larger screen, both models could get a faster chipset. New AI and health monitoring features are expected to arrive at a later date. You can read more on this here.
