APPLE days before announcing the highly anticipated iOS 17 at the WWDC 2023 has now released the iOS 16.5 along with the iPadOS 16.5 for all users. However, the update is not a major upgrade and could be the last iOS 16 upgrade before iOS 17 gets rolled out. Here are all the new features added with iOS 16.5.

1. Sports Tab In Apple News

The company has added a dedicated sports page to its News portal Apple News application with iOS 16.5. With this new addition, iOS users can now follow sports news alongside their favourite sports teams, players, or leagues. Furthermore, the company has added My Sport score cards and schedule cards, which can provide information about games that are taking place in real-time.

As per the company, the Sports Tab will let the users access stories, scores, standings, and more for any team or league.

2. Bug Fixes

Apple users were experiencing issues with Spotlight and Podcasts in CarPlay, as well as Screen Time settings, following previous updates. The company has announced that it has fixed the following bugs, and users should no longer experience any issues with the services.

Another intriguing feature that was included in the beta version but was not included in the public update was the Siri command for starting and stopping screen recording.

3. Pride Wallpaper

In addition, a new wallpaper honouring the LGBTQ+ community and culture has been released by the company. The wallpaper can be used on both the lock and home screens, and it comes with animations, according to the company.

Apple, on the other hand, is expected to release some intriguing features with the next generation iOS 17. It will include a Personal Voice feature, as well as some helpful features such as a Journaling App, Dynamic Island, Health App Updates, Lock Screen Updates, and App Library Folders.
