Apple September 12 Event: Tech giant Apple is all set to host the upcoming iPhone 15 launch event on September 12, which has got the tech landscape ringing in excitement for a long time. Among the expected launches are four new iPhones, Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and AirPods Pro with USB Type-C charging.
Amid all the exhilarating buzz, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have been tipped to offer major upgrades this year. So, to ease your feature trail to know about the differences, here are the top five things you can expect from the upcoming regular iPhones.
Dynamic Island
Exclusive to the 'Pro' models on the iPhone 14 series, the Dynamic Island notch feature may arrive on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, according to Mark Gurman, a renowned name for Apple-focused updates. As a result, this will improve the experience to view notifications, check alerts and more.
48MP Primary Camera
The 48MP primary lens with a resolution like last year's Apple iPhone 14 Pro could sit on the vanilla and Plus models. If this update materialises, the sensor may offer better details and superior output than the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
USB Type-C Port
Arguably the most awaited change, the company may switch to a USB Type-C port on all models for charging and data transfer. The Lightning connector is reportedly all set to get scrapped after over a decade. Compared to the 'Pros,' the transfer speeds will likely be slower. Secondly, a boost in wireless charging is also tipped by reports.
A16 Bionic Processor
Available on the 14 Pro models, the A16 Bionic chip could move to the 15 and 15 Plus. This would add a boost in performance from last year. For context, the A16 on the latest 'Pros' offer a six-core CPU, five-core GPU and 16-core neural engine.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus Expected Price
The pricing of both models will likely remain the same as last year. You can expect the iPhone 15 to start from around Rs 80,000, and the iPhone 15 Plus may have a starting price of roughly 90,000. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus may debut in five colour options: White, Black, Pink, Yellow and Blue, according to Gurman.
As for the extras, the 15 and 15 Plus will likely have an aluminium frame with a glass back. The sides will have slight curves on the edges. All models may offer a 'U2' ultrawide band for enhanced accuracy in location tracking.
