Apple iPhone 17 Air: There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding Apple’s plans for a new iPhone in September 2025, and the latest rumours point to a potential addition to the iPhone family: the iPhone 17 Air. Expected to feature an ultra-thin design, this model could be the slimmest iPhone yet. Some are of the thought that might even replace the Plus variant in the iPhone 17 series, keeping the total count of iPhone models at four. If this happens, the iPhone 17 Air would join Apple’s expanding “Air” lineup, alongside the MacBook Air and iPad Air.

Expected Design of the iPhone 17 Air

The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be exceptionally slim, with a thickness of just 6mm—thinner than the iPhone 16’s 7.8mm body. To achieve this sleek form, Apple may incorporate Touch and Display Driver Integration (TDDI) technology, which combines the display and touch layers into one, thus reducing the overall thickness. The device is also expected to sport a 6.6-inch OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion for a smoother viewing experience.

Expected Camera Features 

When it comes to photography, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to feature a 48MP main camera along with an ultra-wide lens. The front camera could also see a significant upgrade, with a move to a 24MP TrueDepth camera. For zoomed-in shots, digital zoom will likely be achieved through cropping, resulting in sharper zoomed-in images.

Expected Performance 

On the performance side, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be powered by the new A19 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM. There are also reports suggesting that Apple might include its own Wi-Fi chip for improved connectivity.

Expected Price in India 

As for the price, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to retail for around $899 in the US, which is similar to the iPhone 16 Plus, priced at Rs 89,900 in India. However, some reports suggest it could be priced even higher, possibly surpassing the $1,199 mark set by the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
