Vision Pro News: Roughly two weeks after the Apple Vision Pro debuted in the US Apple stores, the headset is now earning mixed feedback. Some users are returning their devices and wish to get their money back, which starts from $3,499 for the base 256GB model. It may not be good news for the company as Apple is reportedly more than 18 months away from launching its successor, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported.

In his 'Power On' newsletter, Gurman added the visionOS interface lagged fluidity in some instances, and the headset was heavy to wear for longer sessions. A surprising number of the first batch buyers showed up to return the headset. Gurman reported the return rate for the headset ranges from 1-2 return in smaller stores and over eight per day at larger spots.

However, some stores may not witness returns at all. The correspondent noted this is not a sign of "crisis". The reasons for the return are the headset's weight, cumbersome structure, and complaints that it induces headaches. Others cite the lack of a vast video library and apps as unjustified.

Plus, for the display, people complain it has too much glare, narrow field of view and causes problems in the vision. The difficult usability as a screen for an extension of a Mac is also among the stated reasons. Lastly, the lack of shared experiences due to the personalised fit and isolation from the real world are other reasons for the move.

At the return stage, the customers are asked for a reason or feedback, which is relayed to Cupertino. On the other hand, Gurman reported that the conversion rate for the Vision Pro headset steeps to about 10 to 15 per cent for some stores. Plus, a user base aims to continue using the visionOS-powered Vision Pro for its immersive capabilities.
