Apple launched the Watch Series 9 on September 12 this year alongside the new Apple iPhones. And to commemorate World AIDS Day, the Cupertino-based tech giant has now announced the watch in a new PRODUCT (RED) variant. For the unaware, the company has partnered with (RED) to fight AIDS and has contributed monetary sums to provide life-saving treatment to HIV patients.

The company also highlights special (RED) watch straps and watch faces namely Palette, Solar Analogue, Metropolitan, World Time, Numerals Mono, Gradient, Stripes, and Typograph, on its website. If you plan to buy a new device, here are the details about the new smartwatch.

Apple Watch Series 9 Features

Watch Series 9 gets an Always-On Retina OLED LTPO screen with peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. The PRODUCT(RED) is available in two dial sizes - 41mm and 45mm and aluminium casing. The Series 9 is powered by the new S9 SiP chip for performance. It runs on the latest watchOS 10 version. The Bluetooth 5.3 smartwatch offers a Blood Oxygen app, ECG app, high and low heart rate notifications, irregular rhythm notifications, low cardio prompts, temperature sensing and more health-centric features.

It also gets Emergency SOS, International Emergency Calling support, Fall and Crash Detection and 50m swimproof protection. Apple claims a battery life of up to 18 hours with the watch in normal usage. The watch also offers a double tap gesture and a 2nd generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip for precise tracking.

The aluminium PRODUCT (RED) Series comes in two sizes and connectivity options. Here are the detailed pricing of these variants:

You can add an AppleCare+ plan for Rs 7,900 to claim two years of unlimited repairs for accidental damage protection, authorised repairs and priority access to Apple's service and staff. Plus, a (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band priced at Rs 4,500 is also available for purchase.
