Apple is said to bring minor updates to its smartwatch lineup this year alongside the launch of the iPhone 15 series. But, reports hint that Apple is working on a new "Watch X" update on the gadget's 10th anniversary. However, Mark Gurman, a trust-worthy name for Apple-related leaks, claims this won't debut this year.
The Bloomberg journalist in the 'Power On' newsletter claims the successors to the Watch 8 Series and Watch Ultra would pack minor changes. In 2022, Series 8 debuted with a body-temperature sensor. Similarly, in 2021, the upgrade was a larger display. In 2020, the top changes were a faster processor and a blood-oxygen monitoring feature.
Besides these slight modifications, Apple took a giant leap with the Watch Ultra last year. However, the upgrades to the device will likely be minor this year.
Apple Watch X Leaks and Launch Date (Expected)
While the company has kept the design of the Apple Watch the same since Series 4, this could change with the Watch X. The designers at Apple are planning a thinner case with a new strap-changing mechanism. The inlet may be replaced with a magnetic attachment.
Plus, it may have a microLED screen that matches the clarity of OLED panels and Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring technology. The device that may debut on the 10th anniversary could pack the biggest upgrades to date. It may launch in 2024 or 2025.

As per the report, the watch may debut in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. The Watch Ultra may also stick to the 49mm. Apple may bring new colour shades and a faster CPU on the watches this time. Gurman calls it the "most minor upgrade" in the history of Apple Watches.
Apple Watch Series 9 Release Date Leaks
Gurman claims the Cupertino-based tech giant may introduce the Watch Series 9 alongside the Apple iPhone 15 series on September 12.
