MSI Claw Handheld: Taiwanese tech maker MSI has announced its first gaming handheld 'MSI Claw A1M' at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024. The portable gaming device is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra CPU for performance and Intel XeSS technology. According to the brand, it is equipped with MSI Cooler Boost Hyperflow technology for thermal efficiency during gaming sessions.

The handheld is all set to take on devices such as Valve's Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. Here are the complete specifications of the MSI's new gaming handheld.

MSI Claw A1M Specifications

The handheld gets a 7-inch FHD IPS touch display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 100 per cent sRGB colour coverage and 500nits brightness. It has an ergonomic design to fit the natural grip of the hands of gamers and weighs 675g. For an immersive audio experience, it gets dual speakers (2W). Under the hood, the device offers up to Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor and Intel Arc Graphics. Claw A1M ships in two OS trims: Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro (for business).

It gets a six-cell 53WHr battery (with 65W charging) that can deliver two hours of battery life at maximum workload. It also has an MSI Center M UI design and MSI AI Engine for easy access to essential features. Apart from Windows games, the MSI APP Player allow users to play Android mobile games. One "NVMe M.2 2230 SSD by PCIe Gen 4 x4" slot is available on the device for storage.

As for controls, the handheld offers RGB ABXY buttons, RGB analog sticks, D-pad, Hall Effect analog triggers, L and R bumpers, a View button, a Menu button, an MSI Center M button, OSD Key, two Assignable grip buttons and HD haptics. For connectivity, the device gets Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a Hi-Res audio jack, a USB-C port (Thunderbolt 4, Display, USB support) with PD charging and a microSD card reader. For security, the gaming device gets fingerprint-based authentication.

Apart from the gaming handheld, the company announced a range of laptops, including the Titan 18 HX, Raider 18 HX, Stealth 18 AI Studio, Vector HX series, Crosshair HX series and Pulse AI series, Sword HX series, Cyborg AI, Thin 15, Prestige AI series and Content Creation Series laptops.
