OpenAI's ChatGPT, a popular AI-powered chatbot that has already received a lot of attention throughout the world, may soon get a memory function. With this new feature, the chatbot will be able to recall information about you as well as your most recent discussions with it. Not only that, but you will be able to tell the chatbot to remember something and inquire what it recalls. Users will also be able to instruct the chatbot to forget previously remembered interactions in the settings for privacy reasons.
“It is also completely deactivable. This week, we are testing it out with a small group of ChatGPT Plus and free users to see how helpful it is. We'll shortly announce our plans for a wider rollout,” according to a statement from OpenAI.
"ChatGPT's memory will get better the more you use it and you'll start to notice the improvements over time". Memory can be turned off by users at any moment. They won't make or use memories when their memory is impaired.
"Just tell ChatGPT what you want it to forget. Additionally, you can access and remove individual memories or clear all of your memories via the settings," the business said.Use temporary chat to carry on a conversation without consuming any memory.

"Temporary chats won't appear in history, won't use memory, and won't be used to train our models," the business stated. GPTs will each have a unique memory. It will be possible for builders to activate memory on their GPTs. "Recollections are not shared with builders, just like your chats. You will also want memory in order to communicate with a memory-enabled GPT," according to OpenAI.
