ChatGPT News: AI research and deployment company OpenAI gained massive limelight after the launch of its viral chat model ChatGPT in the recent past. The company is now making a significant change to make the AI service accessible to more users. OpenAI shared in a blog post that users can now use ChatGPT without signing into an account.

This implies people can use the model instantly without any compulsory requirement to log in or sign up. The company noted that it is rolling out the change "gradually" and aims to make AI accessible with the move. OpenAI noted that it may use your conversations to improve and train the model. This implies the chats will be collected as feedback by default.

However, users can disable the "Improve the model for everyone" option from the Settings to stop sending data for training. Plus, OpenAI noted that it is introducing additional safeguards to power this chat experience for users. For instance, it will resort to "blocking prompts and generations in a wider range of categories". However, it did not share details about these categories.

As for benefits with an account, the company highlighted pros such as options to save (and review) chat history, share chats, voice conversations and custom instructions. However, the recent removal of the account-walled requirement can help bring more users to the platform who may have not preferred giving out login credentials to the AI platform earlier.

ChatGPT is available in over 185 countries and enjoys an audience base of 100 million+ users. The model sparked an AI race among tech companies with its capabilities of conversational chats, generating texts and more. Do note that the free version does not offer real-time internet access.
