Sam Altman ChatGPT News:  Sam Altman, the 38-year-old ex-CEO of OpenAI and creator of ChatGPT, admired his former colleagues as he bid adieu to the company after being sacked. While he applauded his co-workers at OpenAI in a poignant 'X' post, he also acknowledged the role ChatGPT is playing in transforming the world.

Taking to the microblogging site X, Sam wrote, "I loved my time at OpenAI. It was transformative for me, and hopefully the world a little bit. Most of all, I loved working with such talented people. Will have more to say about what's next later."

"I'm super proud of what we've all built together since starting in my apartment 8 years ago. We've been through tough & great times together, accomplishing so much despite all the reasons it should have been impossible. But based on today's news, I quit," he added on X.

Why OpenAI let Sam Altman go?

One of the most sought-after tech sensations just last year, Altman was sacked by OpenAI on Friday which specified that it had dismissed Sam as the company no longer had confidence in his abilities to run the company.

"The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI," said the company, adding that chief technology officer Mira Murati will replace him," said the company in the press note as he transfers the baton to CTO of the company Mira Murati.

According to a statement from OpenAI's board, Altman's departure is a result of a thorough review process. The board found that he was not consistently transparent in his communications, hindering the board's ability to fulfil its responsibilities.

OpenAI co-founder also takes his leave
Hours after the company let Altman go, the co-founder of the company, Greg Brockman announced his departure. While taking a leave himself, Brockman indicated that his resignation comes in the wake of the latest developments.
