Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, the game which took the title of Game of the Year in 2025, is still on an award-winning streak. After receiving a number of year-end awards, the game has gone ahead and has already bagged 12 nominations at the distinguished BAFTA Games Awards. The number of nominations the game has bagged is more than what any other title scored this year. Best Game, Game Design, and Artistic Achievement are a few of the categories that the game got nominated for.
BAFTA, which is short for British Academy of Film and Television Arts, laid down the nominations on Wednesday for the BAFTA Game Awards 2026. 42 games made their way to the nominations under 17 categories. Clair Obscure, as discussed, took the most number of nominations, which stood at 12 nominations; second to it was Dispatched with nine nominations. Ghost of Yotei, the famous second part of Ghost of Tsushima, bagged 8 nominations, while what's surprising is the fact that Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On The Beach bagged 7 nominations, which is lower than what the other popular titles discussed above got. As far as multiplayer titles are concerned, ARC Raiders bagged five nominations, which include the Best Game, Technical Achievement, and Multiplayer categories.
Clair Obscure has been on a roll and has received a number of game of the year awards and year-end awards across the globe. Having personally played the game, I understand why that is; it is the seamless intermix of ideas that gamers have been looking for and its execution. The title won admiration across the globe for its achievements in gameplay mechanics and even the artistic component. The Game Awards 2025, the Golden Joystick Awards 2025, and the D.I.C.E. Awards are some of the major awards it bagged, just to name a few. This will be the 22nd BAFTA Games Awards and will take place in Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, London, on April 17, 2026. The awards will be live-streamed on BAFTA's YouTube channel. Below is a list of nominations for the BAFTA Games Awards 2026.
