WhatsApp will now allow the Delhi Metro commuter to recharge their Metro cards. The feature aims to help users avoid the long queues on the metro stations using the same ticketing and chatbot service. For those unaware, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform can also be used to book tickets for their Metro Journey.

"Introducing metro pass recharge via WhatsApp will revolutionise the commuting experience for everyday commuters who use the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)," declared Ravi Garg, Director, of Business Messaging, Meta in India. "This integration, which offers a variety of payment options for reloading the card, builds on the popularity of our earlier QR ticketing systems and moves us one step closer to our objective of making transit easier for millions of people in the NCR area," he added.
Users of iOS and Android devices can easily quickly access the chatbot by tapping on WhatsApp's payments section. DMRC's ticketing service via WhatsApp, powered by PeLocal, is accessible on all lines in the Delhi National Capital Region, including Gurugram Rapid Metro.
WhatsApp allowed QR ticketing for all DMRC routes, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro, last year. In addition to fast information on train schedules, prices, and station details, the chatbot service offers passengers instant assistance and information.
The feature is available in various other states including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Nagpur, and Pune with an aim to make the travel hassle-free.
