Dell has expanded its refreshed XPS lineup with the launch of the new Dell XPS 13 (2026), and this one is clearly aimed at users who want a compact premium laptop without stepping into the ultra-expensive category. First shown during CES 2026, the new XPS 13 now officially goes on sale in select global markets as the entry point into Dell’s latest XPS family.
Even though it sits lower in the lineup, Dell hasn’t stripped away the premium feel. The laptop comes with a sleek, lightweight design, weighs around 1kg and is just 12.7mm thick, making it easy to carry around for work, college or travel. Dell is offering the laptop in two shades, Sky and Storm, although not both will be available immediately. The Sky version and Intel Core Series 3 model are arriving first, while the more powerful Intel Core Ultra Series 3 variant and Storm colourway are expected later this year.
The new XPS 13 starts at $699, which roughly converts to Rs. 66,000. Dell is also offering a discounted student price of $599 for buyers aged 16 and above.
The display remains one of the biggest highlights.
Dell has packed a 13.4-inch 2.5K InfinityEdge touchscreen on the laptop, and it supports a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The panel also brings Dolby Vision support, VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification and full DCI-P3 colour coverage, so streaming content or editing photos should feel right at home here.
The slim bezels continue to give the XPS lineup its signature modern look, while the quad speaker setup and dual microphones round out the multimedia experience.
Intel’s New Panther Lake Chips Take Centre Stage
One of the biggest talking points around the Dell XPS 13 (2026) is the move to Intel’s latest Panther Lake processors. Users can configure the machine with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 355 chip, which can hit clock speeds of up to 4.7 GHz and comes with a 49 TOPS NPU for AI-focused tasks.
There is also a more affordable Intel Core i5 Series 3 3220 option with a 16 TOPS NPU and boost speeds reaching 4.6 GHz. Graphics are handled by integrated Intel graphics, while memory and storage go up to 32GB LPDDR5x RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
Battery, Ports And Connectivity
Dell has included a 52Wh battery with support for 65W fast charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, keeping the laptop ready for next-generation wireless standards.
The laptop also features two USB Type-C ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. For video calls and biometric login, users get a 2-megapixel IR webcam with Windows Hello support.
Dell is shipping the laptop with both Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro options depending on the configuration. While the XPS lineup has always focused on premium ultrabooks, this new model feels like Dell’s attempt to make that experience more accessible without cutting back too heavily on features.
