Soon after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said it was time to move on from the highly anticipated cage match over Musk’s excuses, X's owner mocked him by calling him "chicken". Musk responded to a user on X who had tweeted Zuckerberg's claim that Musk "isn't serious" about the cage match and that "it's time to move on" by saying: "Zuck is a chicken."

The argument started on Monday after a user shared Zuckerberg's statement, which implied that Musk wasn't serious about the cage combat and that it was time to abandon this idea. Musk did not end there. In response to another post implying that Zuckerberg was trying to back out, Musk said, "He can't eat at Chick-fil-A because that would be cannibalism." I'm excited to knock on his door tomorrow."

This exchange follows Musk's earlier post on Sunday, in which he released a conversation with Zuckerberg on X (now Twitter) and announced his availability to fight in Palo Alto, California. During the conversation, Zuckerberg advised that if Musk was truly interested in a true MMA battle, he could train on his own and let him know when he was ready to compete. Musk answered by recognising the size disparity and implying that he hadn't been practising much, alluding to a brief encounter with Lex Fridman.

Later, in a Threads post, Zuckerberg remarked that it was obvious Musk wasn't serious and that it was time to move on. He described Dana White's suggestion for a true charity competition and the possibility of a real date. Musk's failure to confirm the date was brought up, along with the need for surgery and even a practice round in Zuckerberg's backyard. The CEO of Meta stressed that he knew how to contact Musk if he ever showed actual commitment to a real event. Zuckerberg stated his intention to concentrate on competing with those who take the sport seriously in the interim.

Despite their heated exchanges, the two tech giants have not yet decided on a specific date for their clash. Zuckerberg insisted that no official date had been set, despite Musk's statement of contacting the Italian prime minister and minister of culture about hosting the event.
