X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk has announced that the micro-blogging platform will not be using the user's personal data in order to train its machine learning and artificial intelligence-based large language models. This came soon after X changed its privacy policies. He responded by asking users for permission to begin collecting their biometric data and job history.

Musk answered that this was incorrect when an X user claimed that the revised privacy policy now specifically mentions using X data to build AI models. According to the proprietor of X, the social media platform will only use "public data," not "direct messages" (DMs) or "anything private.". The social networking platform has modified its privacy policy to include exceptions for "employment history" and "biometric information."

The new privacy policy states, "Based on your consent, we may collect and use your biometric information for safety, security, and identification purposes."

According to X, it may gather and use personal data (including your employment history, educational background, employment preferences, skills, and abilities, as well as your job search activity and engagement) "to recommend potential jobs for you, to share with potential employers when you apply for a job, to enable employers to find potential candidates, and to show you more relevant advertising."

For those unaware, the new X privacy policy will come under effect starting from September 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, the platform is also working on new features including Audio and video call features, that too without any cellular network with full security. Musk soon after the takeover hinted that he wanted Twitter (now X) to be an everything application. Not only that, the platform has also started helping job finders and posters with its new tool.
