JE Technology Desk: Twitter's famous Larry Bird has finally retired from the microblogging app as Elon Musk's platform now displays the new 'X' logo on the web. The loading window and main icon have changed on the desktop version. However, on Android and iOS, the app icon is still the same. The update comes after the Twitter owner shared that the 'interim logo' will go live today. Further, Linda Yaccarino tweeted the picture of the new logo earlier this morning.
As a part of the overhaul, one of the most popular and official accounts of the social media app - @Twitter, was renamed to 'X' and the new profile icon. The affiliate badge of profiles of owner Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino and other associated accounts have moved to the new logo. Some users on desktop might have to log in and out to see the changes, T(w)itter Daily News tweeted.
X.com will be the new address of Twitter, as the domain redirects users to the platform. Speaking of cosmetic changes, several elements of the microblogging app's interface are now changing from blue to black. It seems Elon Musk is celebrating the move as he changed his profile picture to the new logo soon after announcing the change. All major accounts associated with the platform have removed 'Twitter' from their profile name.
X will have 'unlimited interactivity'
Taking to the platform today, Yaccarino said that X would be "centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking," which hints that the company is all set to expand the identity of the platform from a mere text-based app. As per the CEO, AI-powered X can deliver "everything".
The unrest around the new branding was sparked with Musk's tweet in which he said: "Soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds."He also added that: "If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we'll make go live worldwide tomorrow."
