Free Aadhaar Update Ends Tomorrow: Here’s How To Uptade Aadhaar Online?

If you haven’t updated your Aadhaar details, tomorrow is the last day to do it at no cost. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will be offering free online Aadhaar updates till June 14, 2025. After this date, any modifications will come with a fee of Rs 50.

You can update some demographic details through the myAadhaar portal, eliminating the need to go to an Aadhaar centre. According to UIDAI guidelines, it is necessary to refresh your Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) every decade.

What You Can Update Online for Free

Before the deadline, you can update the following details for free via the official myAadhaar portal:

 

• Name (within character limits)
• Date of Birth
• Address
• Gender
• Language Preference

 

Note: Biometric updates (fingerprints, iris, photograph) cannot be done online. Visit an Aadhaar update centre to modify these. Use your PIN code on UIDAI’s site to find the nearest centre.

How to Update Aadhaar Online Before the Deadline

Here's a quick step-by-step guide:

 

1. Go to: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in

 

 

2. Click the “Login” button.

 

 

3. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha, then request an OTP.

 

 

4. Use the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to log in.

 

 

5. Check if your PoI and PoA documents are current.

 

 

6. Click “Document Update” in the top-right corner.

 

 

7. Choose the update type and upload necessary documents.

 

 

8. Review the info and hit “Submit”.

 

9. You’ll receive a Service Request Number (SRN) to track the update status.
