Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: Samsung’s latest foldables have landed, and while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may grab the spotlight, the Flip lineup is getting more interesting than ever. Enter the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fan Edition (FE) — Samsung’s most affordable clamshell foldable yet. Priced ₹20,000 lower than the regular Flip 7, it’s a serious attempt to bring foldables to a broader audience. But is it just a watered-down version, or is there more to this budget-friendly flip?

Let’s break down what’s different — and what isn’t.

Design: Familiar Feel, Subtle Tweaks

At first glance, both Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE look pretty similar. They share Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the outside and Armour Aluminium frames, so durability isn’t sacrificed. But the Flip 7 is edges ahead in the looks department — it’s thinner (13.9 mm vs. 14.9 mm) and offers more premium finishes like Blue Shadow, Coral Red, and Jet Black. The FE plays it simple with just Black and White.

Displays: Flip 7 Goes Bigger and Brighter

Samsung gave the Flip 7 a 4.1-inch cover screen, turning it into a mini phone of its own. It’s slick, responsive at 120 Hz, and hits a stunning 2,600 nits brightness. Inside, you get a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel, perfect for binge-watching or multitasking.

The Flip 7 FE isn’t far off but cuts a few corners: a smaller 3.4-inch cover screen with a slower 60 Hz refresh rate and lower brightness. The inner display is 6.7 inches, still 120 Hz and bright, but overall, it feels slightly scaled back.

Performance: Close, But Not Equal

Under the hood, the Flip 7 runs on the Exynos 2500, paired with 12GB RAM and storage options up to 512GB. You even get Samsung DeX, turning your phone into a desktop-like interface.

The Flip 7 FE drops to Exynos 2400, 8GB RAM, and tops out at 256GB. No DeX here, but everyday performance should still feel solid, especially with the shared software: One UI 8 is based on Android 16, and yes, you’ll still get AI features like Gemini Live.

Cameras: Same Sensors, Slight Edge for Flip 7

Both phones pack a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP selfie camera. The Flip 7 may click slightly better photos thanks to the newer chip and a bigger cover screen, which helps with framing shots.

Battery Life: A Little Extra Juice

The Flip 7 has a slight edge with a 4,300 mAh battery (vs 4,000 mAh on the FE). Samsung says that’ll get you around 31 hours of video playback, while the FE can manage about 24 hours. Charging speeds are identical, though: 25W wired and 15W wireless on both.

So, which one should you buy?

If you want to enter the foldable world without burning a hole in your pocket, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is an excellent starting point. Priced at ₹89,999 for 128GB and ₹95,999 for 256GB, it covers the basics — strong build, solid cameras, modern software, and that satisfying flip.

But if you’re willing to spend the extra ₹20,000, the regular Galaxy Z Flip 7 gives you a better cover display, more RAM, a newer chip, DeX support, and a sleeker body — priced at ₹1,09,999 for 256GB and ₹1,21,999 for 512GB.

Bottom line: the FE is smartly specced for its price, but if you want the full flagship foldable experience, the standard Flip 7 is worth stretching for.
