South Korean smartphone maker Samsung will likely announce the Galaxy Ring at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. While we are slightly over a week away from a possible launch, a new report from Android Authority tipped the health tracking features of the wearable. For the unaware, Samsung teased the first look of the smart ring at the first Galaxy Unpacked 2024 and Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2024.
According to the report, the smart ring will bring a host of functionalities via the Samsung Health app. As per the APK teardown, the wearable could be able to measure the heart rate and stress levels and present the results in the app. The Galaxy Ring could also gain a skin temperature sensor to collect temperature data. It may also get snore detection.
Snore detection may allow users to record snoring always or limit it to one instance. A feature to record audio may also be present in Samsung Health. The option will require a phone nearby in charging mode to record this audio and detect snores. It will deliver audio recordings with timestamps of snoring and heavy breathing.

Period detection could also be a part of Samsung Health and allow a female wearer to predict the cycle using the Galaxy Ring or smartwatch via the skin temperature data. As for other details, the Galaxy Ring could be available in eight sizes and three colours: gold, silver and black. It will likely also get ECG, SpO2 and PPG sensors.
Plus, Galaxy Ring could offer a My Vitality Score and other advanced health readings such as blood pressure and aFib detection. The watch may also get activity tracking, media controls and wireless charging via its case and Tap to Pay feature. Tipster Yogesh Brar claims the Galaxy Ring could sit in the sub-Rs 35,000 price bracket in India.
