Google, after much anticipation announced that the waitlist to access Bard is finally coming to an end. The AI experiment will be available in over 180 countries.

Bard has learned 20+ programming languages

Bard has got better at code generation, debugging and explanations. The host adds Bard has already learned over 20 programming languages like C, C++, Java, Javascript, Google Sheets functions and more.

Bard will soon support around 40 languages

Hsiao gave a demo of Bard responding in two languages based on the user's request. While it is an example, Bard would accept 40 languages soon. The host demonstrated a Python script to make a specific move in Chess. Apart from English, Bard will now support Japanese and Korean too.

Bard will become more visual

On the lines of Microsoft's announcement of Bing AI getting more visual, Bard will adopt a similar path for its output.

Bard can write funny captions in Google Lens

In the demo, after analysing the contents in the image uploaded to Google Lens, Bard returns fun captions.

Cross-app integrations of Bard

Additionally, Bard can point to coordinates of a location in Maps, structure them in a table and add more columns to them. Furthermore, the ability to export Bard's output across Google apps was heavily stressed in the event.

Adobe Firefly x Bard

Bard would now have supercharged AI capabilities from Adobe's Firefly to generate images. Additionally, more partner extensions will optimise Bard's output for users.

Bard gets dark mode

Starting today, Bard will have support for dark mode, the host adds. It would be helpful for users who wish to have a uniform look across apps.

Meanwhile, speaking of the early days, Bard made factual errors at its public demo. Moreover, it was initially available to select users in the US and UK. Across social media, instances of Bard falling short of GPT-4 were frequently reported. We will have to see how Bard 2.0 reacts to such competition now.
