GOOGLE, at I/O 2023 event, announced the launch of its first-ever foldable phone - Pixel Fold. This foldable phone marks the official entry of the search leader in the category otherwise dominated by Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4.

While you had a look at the Pixel Fold's official specifications and price at the I/O event, a head-to-head comparison with Samsung's offering seemed inevitable from our point of view. Hence, here is a comparison of the newly launched Google Pixel Fold against the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Google Pixel Fold vs Samsung Fold 4 Specifications

The main screen on the Pixel Fold has a 7.6-inch 120Hz OLED compared to Samsung's 7.6-inch 120Hz OLED screen. Coming to the secondary display, the Pixel phone has a 5.8-inch 120Hz OLED panel compared to Z Fold 4's 6.2-inch OLED screen.

Under the hood, the Pixel Fold comes with a Tensor G2 chipset. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU. Both phones pack 12GB RAM and 256GB and 512GB storage variants. Moreover, the Fold 4 also has a 1TB storage option.

Pixel Fold runs on Android 13 and has a custom skin for Fold. On the other side, the Z Fold 4 runs on OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13. Coming to the battery, the Fold from Google has a 4821mAh battery with 30W wired and 20W wireless charging support compared to Z Fold 4's 4,400mAh which has 45W fast wired and 15W wireless charging.

Here are the primary camera specs of both the foldable phones: Google Pixel Fold - 48MP primary lens, 10.8MP ultra-wide and 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens; Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 - 50MP main lens, 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto cameras. The Pixel Fold has an 8MP inner and 9.5MP camera on the main screen. As for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the handset comes with a 4MP camera on the inside and 10MP camera on the cover display.

Google Pixel Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Price

The Pixel Fold (12GB+256GB) starts from $1,799 (roughly Rs 1,47,500). It comes in two colour options - Obsidian and Porcelain. Google hasn't announced any timeline to launch the phone in India.

Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 (12GB + 256GB) starts from Rs 1,54,999 in India. It comes in Graygreen, Phantom Black and Beige colours.
