Google, at its Google For India 2023 event, has made some massive announcements which will help Indian users, businesses and the economy. Along with the commitment to help farmers and entrepreneurs, the company has announced that it is planning to begin manufacturing and assembling the Pixel smartphones in India and even export them to other countries by 2024. Not only that, the company has also announced some AI features as well.
During the event’s presentation, Google Senior VP of Devices and Services Rick Osterloh stated that the business plans to begin local manufacture of the company's current Pixel 8 smartphone in the nation and anticipates exporting those devices starting in the upcoming year.

According to third-party statistics, Google has sold close to 40 million Pixel smartphones since 2016 and 10 million of them in the previous 12 months alone, as its recently released Pixel 8 series started to find popularity internationally, including in India. Earlier this month, the firm debuted the Pixel Watch 2 and the all-new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones with next-generation AI capabilities in India.
HP, the PC and printer giant, announced a partnership with Google late last month to manufacture Chromebooks in India. The company also revealed many new AI-focused innovations in the country at the headline ‘Google for India 2023’ event.
"By incorporating photos and videos into numerous overviews, we are making Search Generative Experience more visual and local," claimed the business.
Soon, users in India will have access to both Hindi and English summaries of more than 100 government-led programmes. With the addition of a slider that allows users to quickly switch between Hindi and English without leaving the results page, Google extended the search generative experience (SGE) to India in August.
“Generative AI in Search will soon assist users in more effortlessly exploring local sites and activities to do in a city. By combining user feedback, Search Generative Experience will also assist you with precise facts about specific locations (such as if it is wheelchair accessible),” the company announced.
