Google has been trying hard to build an integrated space of tech gadgets to compete with the ecosystem expert - Apple. And to slowly bring it on par with the Cupertino-based tech giant's cross-device integration (Continuity features), the search company introduces new updates repeatedly. In the latest move, Google may soon allow users to link devices signed in to the same Google account.
Android Authority citing Nail Sadykov, added that the company may let you "link your devices" configured with the same Google ID. It will likely allow users to use features like "call switching," which could imply that a user may be able to switch across linked devices during calls. Further, it could ease the process of "Internet sharing" via personal hotspots. The option will likely appear in the Settings, then Google, and Devices and Sharing menu after release.

Adding to the speculations, Mishaal Rahman, an Android researcher, said in an X post: "You may soon be able to 'link your [Android] devices' signed into the same Google account together. This will enable 'call switching', which lets you switch between devices for calls, as well as 'Internet sharing'!"

The platform speculates that the feature may go live via Google Play services, and users on the latest Android version may receive the update.
In the current mechanism on iOS, users can use "iPhone Mobile Calls" to receive and make calls via Mac or an iPad using the same Wi-Fi network as an iPhone. Besides FaceTime, the option should be enabled from the settings. With this mechanism, a user can answer calls from their other supported devices other than the iPhone. However, this feature does not allow cross-iPhone integration for calls.
But this could be different on an Android device. You may be able to switch to another Android device, such as a smartphone or a Pixel tablet. However, a reader must note that these are speculation and not official information from Google.
