Google Maps is also getting a variety of updates to offer a better navigation experience to users across the globe. The California-based technology giant has now introduced a new feature which will help the Google Maps user navigate in the tunnels or other no-network zones. This comes after the company introduced 'Bluetooth beacons' support for Android users. However, the iOS users will have to wait, reports 9to5Google.
The report claims that Bluetooth beacons are not new because big cities like New York City, Chicago, Paris, Brussels, and many more have long supported the technology in tunnels across the globe, including Waze, which is owned by Google. However, the beacons have only ever worked with the Waze app.

According to Google's support page, the Waze Beacons programme enables cars to navigate underground areas where GPS signals are not available, resulting in improved location services, driving safety, and real-time visibility.
Users can locate the option under Settings - Navigation Settings, near the bottom of the "Driving Options" section, as noted by SmartDroid. The feature is disabled by default.
In the meanwhile, Google stated that in order to "focus on delivering the best possible user experience," it is eliminating a few of Google Assistant's underutilised capabilities. Google is planning to remove 17 functions, according to the list that the firm released. Users who request one of the features that have been withdrawn may start to receive notifications from the company on January 26 indicating the feature won't be available after a specific date.
Not only that, Google Chrome has updated the definition of its private browsing feature. “Others who use this device won’t see your activity, so you can browse more privately. This won’t change how data is collected by websites you visit and the services they use, including Google. Downloads, bookmarks and reading list items will be saved. Learn more,” it says.
Google modified the general description when it was noted as proof that the corporation is educating users about the various sorts of tracking.
