Google One subscription, which offers a slew of features including extra storage for Gmail, Drive and Photos, is going pretty well. Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai has said that Google One Subscribers are set to touch the 100 million mark. Not only the extended storage option, the Google One subscription also introduces exclusive features as well.
In an earnings call with investors, Pichai stated, "Google One is growing very well, and we are just about to cross 100 million subscribers."
Google One Plans start at $1.99 a month and include access to its US VPN service as well as 100GB of storage that can be shared with five users."Subscriptions are growing strongly, powered by YouTube Premium and Music, YouTube TV, and Google One," he added.
For the entire year 2023, the company's total revenue from subscription products came to $15 billion, mostly due to a significant increase in YouTube subscribers.
According to Pichai, the notable surge in subscription income over the previous few years shows how well our teams can produce high-value products and provide a solid foundation for future growth, notably through YouTube and more recent services like Google One.
Every product area of Google Cloud is finding new opportunities due to the company's increasing demand for its vertically integrated AI portfolio. With the help of Gemini Pro, Google Bard, the conversational AI tool that goes well with Search, is now far more proficient in tasks like comprehension, summarization, reasoning, coding, and planning, he said.
It is currently available in more than 230 countries and 40 languages worldwide. Going on, Gemini Ultra-powered versions of even more advanced versions will be made available to subscribers," announced Pichai.
