GOOGLE will likely bring the new Pixel 8 series to India later this year as an upgrade to the existing Pixel 7 series. The premium series may ship with an upgraded Tenso G3 chip, details of which have surfaced online. Android Authority, citing a source "inside Google," leaked details about the upcoming Google Pixel 8 and the new processor. Read along as we share them with you in this article.
With the Tensor G3, the search giant has updated the CPU cores. The entire CPU assembly would be reframed in the new chip. Secondly, the G3 will have nine CPU cores - four Cortex-A510, four Cortex-A715 and one Cortex-X3 compared to eight cores on the Tensor and Tensor G2. The upcoming phone will only support 64-bit code execution.

With the update, an end user can expect significant upgrades in performance. Still, the news outlet claims it will only match last year's flagship processors in terms of performance.
Further, the new enhancements will allow the manufacturer to design better security solutions and prevent "memory-based attacks." Coming to the graphics, the upcoming series may feature a 10-core Arm Mali-G715. While the new chip may support 8K video encoding/decoding, we have no details on whether the resolution will translate into video recordings.
As for fast multi-tasking, quick app loading and better data transfer speeds, the Pixel flagships will likely have UFS 4.0 storage rather than the older UFS 3.1. Lastly, considering the push for artificial intelligence, the company may bring AI and ML enhancements to the Pixel 8 series.
Meanwhile, the chip gets bad-mouthed regularly for its muted performance compared to other powerful chips. However, Tensor has given Google a free hand to implement AI and smart features into its Pixel devices that may have been restricted otherwise with a third-party sourced processor.
On a related note, Pixel 8 Pro could come with temperature sensing technology, revealed 91Mobiles. Other details with respect to the flagship series largely remain under wraps.
