Google Pixel smartphone buyers may soon get a new feature that will help them avoid fraudulent calls. The 'Call Screening' tool will automatically screen incoming calls and keep scammers and spammers away. The feature is presently available in the United States, and the business is considering bringing it to other nations, including India.
Reddit user shared how he got call screening working in India by tweaking settings on the OnePlus 7, which shows that the feature can be expanded to different regions and languages. “After rooting my OnePlus 7 phone, which is running AOSPA 14 Custom ROM, and using the GappsMod magisk module, which is accessible on GitHub to activate call screening flags and download the Hindi lang packages, I was able to get it to operate flawlessly.,” as quoted by IndiaToday.
In case you're wondering how it was done, the feature was activated after gaining access to the smartphone through modding. These changes may entail installing third-party software, modules, or settings adjustments that are not officially supported by OnePlus but are intended to enable rooting-enabled modifications that enable specific Pixel-like capabilities on other devices.

According to screenshots shared by users, Google appears to be testing the expansion of the Call Screen feature to include Hindi in India. The function employs Google Assistant to record the caller's words and suggest possible responses. Other languages such as German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese may also be supported in various countries, according to the screenshots. Currently, only Americans can use Automated Call Screening; however, implementing the feature in Hindi could increase its popularity throughout India. The upgrades could be officially announced in the future via Google's Pixel Feature Drop, which is scheduled for March 2024.
