Google’s Pixel 10 has been plagued by a persistent bug dubbed “screen snow” since launch, and now the company is finally rolling out a fix. The glitch has been among the most frustrating problems for early adopters of Google’s flagship device, freezing devices for several minutes at a time with static-filled screens.
The company confirmed the issue in a statement to Android Authority, adding that a fix for the issue began rolling out as part of the September security patch on September 3, 2025. The update will rollout to more Pixel 10 models in the next few weeks.
“We are aware of an issue that affects a small number of Pixel 10 devices. We started rolling out fixes on September 3rd, with more to come in the coming weeks,” Google said.
Changelog Confusion
Surprisingly, the official changelog does not have some notes on the on-screen snow bug straightforward as such. Instead, it touts a fix for a bug in which screens could go black when transitioning between webpages in the app browser in specific circumstances. This is thought to be the underlying tweak that will correct the static-screen glitch as well, report added.

User Reactions and Speculation
The problem has been covered widely on Reddit and social media with Pixel 10 users reporting that their Pixels were freezing for 10-minutes or more. Speculation in the community suggested possible issues with GPU handling or display drivers, but Google has yet to confirm the technical issue.
The fix will be a welcome relief for Pixel owners. “It was one of those bugs that made me literally stop to think,” one Redditor wrote, expressing a sentiment shared by many on the tech forum.

What Users Need to Do
If you’ve installed the September Pixel update, the patch should now be live and stopping the static-screen lockups. For everyone who has not yet received it, the rollout will gradually spread more widely over the next few weeks, so you can look for updates in system settings.
