Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 9 series in India and several other regions next month. While the rumour mill has managed to leak a range of details about the devices, Google has now teased AI and Gemini-powered features which will be available on the Pixel 9 Pro. In a YouTube Short shared today, the video processes 22 text frames one by one at a racing pace, which can prove difficult to read even at 0.25x playback speed.
According to Google, viewers can "hit pause and see a reason to switch to Pixel". Apart from the cryptic text, the text in the frame leaves several hints to speculate about the expected features of the device. According to 9To5Google, the first prompt: "Wishing your photo had more scenery", could imply an image generation tool which may arrive on the Pixel 9 Pro to add elements to a photo and more.
Moreover, the company could introduce a feature similar to Microsoft's Recall which could let users keep track of the activity on an app. The prompt teases Clear Calling on the Pixel 9 Pro. The company hints at a zoom feature for videos with text: "Concert videos that look too far away". The report speculated this could be an extension of Zoom Enhance for photos. Plus, users may be able to ask questions to AI about videos.
Other features include Summarise for emails, Call Screen, Live Translate and Hold for Me for calls. As for photos, Best Take, Magic Erase, Unblur and other new features are vaguely teased in the video. The text also highlights Help Me Write for assistance with text generation. Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to run Gemini on-device for basic AI tasks.
The news outlet also noted the company is testing a new voice for Gemini on Android. This could imply preparation for a wider launch in the future. Coming to the Pixel 9 Pro, the flagship may be available at a starting price of 1,099 Euros (about Rs 1 lakh). However, note the company has not confirmed the pricing or specifications of the Pixel 9 Pro at the time of filing.
