Google Drive is a popular cloud storage service of the firm that is a part of the company's Workspace suite. The tech giant regularly introduces meaningful changes for these apps and services. In the latest update, the company introduced a new homepage interface for its Google Drive app. According to the search leader, the aim is to let smartphone users find files faster.

The updated interface will let users view more recommended files that they opened, edited or shared with others in the past. Secondly, the company is swapping the 'Notifications' section next to the 'Suggested' tab with 'Activity'. This comes after a release on the web platform. In this tab, you can check the status of access requests, approvals and comments all under one roof.

The feature does not require any admin control for rollout. Users are not required to make changes to the settings to enable the feature. If a user wishes not to use the home tab, the application will reopen in the last tab used when the app is active. It can range from Shared to Files.

The changes have started releasing for Android users from November 6, the feature visibility of which can take more than 15 days. In the case of iPhone users, the enhancements started rolling out on November 10. The feature visibility can take up to 15 days. It is available for all Workspace and personal accounts.

On a related note, the company also introduced the option to search and add GIFs and stickers directly from Google Slides. Users can head to the 'Insert' tab and then click on the 'Image' tab to find the feature in the sub-menu. A search bar in the right menu allows users to search for the media and swap between the GIF and stickers. It is available to Workspace and personal accounts.
