GTA 6 Update: With every passing day the anticipation for what would be the biggest game launch of the year, GTA 6/VI, is rising. Fans, developers and the gaming community have been waiting for over a year now just to get a glimpse of GTA 6's second trailer, for those unaware Rockstar dropped the first trailer in 2023, breaking all records, and it went instantly viral, and since then there is nothing more that we have about the highly anticipated title.
This lack of information isn't stopping its fans from digging deeper and gathering every small crumb of information they can get. The potential release is expected sometime in 2025, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Recently a post in Reddit's GTA community r/GTA, by user OddRun9389, revealed quite a few details about the game. The user claimed to be a QA for GTA 6 and used to work there for a short time in the previous year. In the post, the user wrote with the caption, "I worked as a QA on GTA VI last year. Here's what I can tell you."

In the post, the user puts their focus on the map first and writes that it will have "more countryside than people think".
If the post is to be believed, then we could also see "backwater Florida mixed with weird swamp cult vibes", as the post suggests, and it also hints at some weird events that you might spot during the gameplay regarding which the user writes, "Saw some weird events pop up in the logs too, with names like “strange gathering” and “property sealed”. definitely some secret type sh*t out there."

NPCs Will Have A Stronger Memory
The post also mentions some NPC (Non-Playable Character) mechanics and puts emphasis on their memory system and the fact that they would remember actions a lot more this time, so you might not be able to just hit them and run away and hope for them to forget. This could be the case if the post is to be believed. The post further explains the fact that if you robbed an NPC three days ago, they would remember. The mechanics of how cops interact with you will also change if you have had trouble with them earlier. Now that seems quite futuristic, if it is true. "It’s like the world doesn’t forget," the QA stated.
Beware Of The Cops This Time
In addition to new NPCs, the leak also hints at fresh police interactions, allowing players to conceal items before their vehicles are searched. This can reportedly be done using glove boxes or space beneath the seats.
The QA further mentions that GTA 6’s story starts off somewhat slowly but gradually unravels, making the narrative feel much more personal.
When Can You Expect The Game To Release?
Now Rockstar is tight-lipped about it, and most of the information is still behind the curtains, but rumours and leaks point towards a potential launch happening on September 17, 2025.
System Requirements: Will You Need To Upgrade Your PC?
Although Rockstar hasn't released the official system requirements yet, leaks indicate the game may need at least an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, a GTX 1080 Ti or Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card, and 8GB of RAM. Additionally, players could require about 150GB of free storage space.
Storyline
While not much has been revealed through the first trailer, which came out over a year ago, it seems that we will have a dual-protagonist setup with the franchise's first female lead character, Lucia. Pairing up with a male lead, it seems like a Bonnie and Clyde kind of a situation; still, a lot is still under wraps for this one.
With all that said, this new leak does spark excitement, and it does it well. It gives out information about some very essential components of the game, but it's not an official thing and must be taken with a pinch of salt. For now we mostly have leaks, rumours and the first GTA 6 trailer to draw any conclusions from, so I guess we will have to wait a bit longer to see what Rockstar is planning for us this season, so stay tuned.
