GTA 6: 2026 is just around the corner, and when it comes to the world of tech, a lot is expected this year, from device technology to gaming. This year is anticipated to bring one of the biggest upgrades to the tech industry yet. One of the things that is under everyone's radar this year comes from the gaming industry, and it is none other than GTA 6/VI by Rockstar Games.

By far, we have had 2 trailers and some screenshots which are apparently in-game from the gaming studio, and the news that the title is going to be delayed by yet another year saw its fair share of backlash. With the release date anticipated to be somewhere between mid- and late 2026, there are other things that fans have been worried about when it comes to GTA 6/VI.

One of the most talked about topics when it comes to Rockstar's yet-to-be-released title is, "Will it run on your PC?" With Rockstar expected to push the limits of what GTA can do, fans are worried whether their gaming consoles or PCs might be able to handle it or not. There are already rumours spiralling around that say that consoles of the current generation might not be able to handle GTA's fidelity. To sprinkle salt on those wounds, there has been a major rumour going around about the size of GTA 6/VI, and when it comes to space and memory, this is one big number.

What Really Happaned

According to a post by @TheCanadianGTR on X(Formerly Twitter), Xbox has confirmed how much space GTA 6/VI will take on Xbox One, and it's a staggering 676.7 GB. Yeah, you heard that right, almost close to a TB, but as they say, the devil is in the details, and if you take a look at the listing carefully, and if you are a gamer nerd like me, you will figure out what's going on.

So firstly, the size of the game that the post mentions is blown out of proportion even for someone who has no knowledge of gaming. I mean, I get it that dying titles like Call Of Duty and Battlefield are still dropping files that are 150 GB or more, but that's just because these games are severely broken; anyone who has played the multiplayer for any of these for their latest releases will know.

Secondly, and most importantly, it mentions GTA 6/VI on Xbox One. Yeah, the game is only for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5; even PC gamers haven't got to know about it yet, so an Xbox One release seems quite unlikely and humorous.

So for now GTA 6/VI is not going to take up 676.7 GB of your space. I mean, that's what I am hoping for. As far as release date goes, rumours around yet another delay are also gaining momentum. For now GTA 6/VI is the most anticipated game of 2026, and as we move forward to the next year, the picture will become even more clearer.
