Apple Repair Program: The California-based iPhone maker has tweaked the repair and standard warranty policies for its Apple Watch and iPhones. According to 9To5Mac, Apple will now not be covering the single hairline cracks as a part of the standard iPhone and Apple Watch warranty. These repairs will now be called accidental damage and the users will have to pay for the repairs.

Until now, Apple's Repair Program included the repair of a single hairline fracture under the basic warranty for iPhone and Apple Watch consumers if there were no evident further damages or a clear point of impact that caused the device to crack.

However, due to recent policy revisions sent to Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Service Providers, all cases of single hairline cracks are no longer covered under the basic warranty. If customers report a hairline crack, they will be required to pay a specific amount to fix the damage to their device.

This means that if your iPhone or Apple Watch has simply a single hairline crack and no other damage or point of contact on it, you will have to pay a high repair fee. According to the report, the change only relates to the iPhone and Apple Watch, while the iPad and Mac hairline cracks are still covered under warranty.

The technology giant has not recognised or issued an official statement regarding the latest policy shift. If you own an Apple Watch or iPhone, you can check out Apple's breakdown of screen replacement prices on its website.

With this measure, the business has prevented the stores and repair workshops from being lenient to customers, removing the flexibility to fix customers' devices for free.
