Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries-backed AI firm BharatGPT has officially announced that it will be introducing the ‘Hanooman’, a ChatGPT-like AI model in March. For those unaware, the BharatGPT is the mega association which includes Reliance Industries along with eight universities. The association has already shared the teaser of the upcoming Indian ChatGPT rival.
Akash Ambani had made hints that the AI project is still in the early stages of development at an IIT Bombay event. An early look into the AI model's operation was provided. A banker conversed with the AI bot in Hindi, and a bike mechanic was spotted posing an inquiry in Tamil. Additionally, a developer was demonstrated using the AI model to write computer code.
Hanooman Capabilities:
The model Hanooman symbolises India's rush to create revolutionary AI technologies. The model will function in four distinct domains—healthcare, financial services, government, and education—and 11 local languages.
It will attempt to offer an intuitive user experience by including features such as speech-to-text. Reliance will also be developing customised models for specific applications, similar to what it does with Jio Brain, a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to benefit a network of almost 450 million people.
For those who don't know, Reliance Jio Infocomm is supporting the approach, which was established in collaboration with institutions of technology. Reliance is not the only company, though, creating AI models with an emphasis on India. Additionally, businesses like Sarvam and others are creating AI models.
In 2014, Akash Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, released a statement on the company's collaboration with IIT Bombay. He had underlined how BharatGPT's introduction is in line with Jio 2.0, the company's overarching goal to advance an all-encompassing ecosystem.
