Honor Watch Ultra 5 Launched: Honour has officially launched the Watch 5 Ultra in China, a high-end smartwatch that arrived alongside the foldable Honour Magic V5. This latest wearable blends rugged durability with premium design and packs serious health and fitness tracking features.
Titanium Build, Sapphire Protection, and AMOLED Display
The Watch 5 Ultra is built with a grade 5 titanium case and protected by sapphire crystal glass, emphasising both durability and luxury. It sports a 1.5-inch circular LTPO AMOLED display with a sharp 466 x 466 resolution and 310 ppi density. It also supports always-on display (AOD) for added convenience.
Three Stylish Variants and Pricing
The smartwatch is available in three distinct styles:
- Speedster (Black) with a fluororubber strap – CNY 1,999 (~Rs. 23,300)
- Commander (Brown) with a leather strap – CNY 2,299 (~Rs 27,000)
- Strategist with a full titanium metal strap – CNY 2,899 (~Rs. 34,000)
All three models are now up for grabs in the Chinese market.
Health Monitoring and Smart Features
Honour isn’t holding back when it comes to health tech. The Watch 5 Ultra comes equipped with:
- ECG sensor for on-demand electrocardiogram readings
- Heart rate monitoring
- Additional sensors, including a gyroscope, accelerometer, air pressure sensor, ambient light sensor, and geomagnetic sensor
It runs on MagicOS 9.0, supports the Yoyo AI assistant, and includes 64MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The watch features two buttons, each capable of long and short presses for quick actions.
eSIM and Connectivity
Thanks to eSIM support, users can make and receive calls directly from the watch. Other connectivity options include:
- Bluetooth 5.2
- NFC
- GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BeiDou, and QZSS
It also includes a microphone and speaker and is compatible with devices running Android 9.0 or above and HarmonyOS 3.0 or above.
Fitness and Battery Life
Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the extensive range of sports modes, including running (indoor and outdoor), walking, cycling, climbing, swimming, snowboarding, and even badminton.
The watch is IP68 rated and 5 ATM water-resistant, meaning it can handle dust and water exposure, including swimming up to 50 metres.
Powering everything is a 480 mAh battery, offering:
- Up to 15 days of battery life (typical use without eSIM)
- Up to 7 days with AOD enabled
- Around 3 days in eSIM mode
The device supports wireless charging and weighs 51.8 g without the strap, with dimensions of 46.3 x 46.3 x 11.4 mm.
