Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), known as Quantum 5G, has recently made it available across India. To provide its customers with seamless internet service access, BSNL upgraded its customers to 4G and 5G SIMs free of charge; existing 2G and 3G customers may obtain these upgrades through Customer Service Centres or authorised BSNL dealers.

As of now, BSNL 4G/5G SIMs are only available in certain parts of India, and for added convenience, doorstep delivery of SIM cards using e-KYC has also begun, so customers no longer need to make trips and stand in long queues at their nearest centre. How to Upgrade to BSNL 4G/5G SIM Cards (Offline).

  • Choose prepaid or postpaid and fill in the form.

BSNL vs Private Players

We still do not know if BSNL's new home delivery service will charge customers for SIM card delivery. Unlike BSNL, private competitors like Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have prepaid SIM card delivery unlocked. BSNL is trying to reduce the competitive disadvantage private telcos have built with affordable rates and 5G service.

Final Thoughts

With the launch of Q-5G and the free upgrades to 4G/5G SIM cards, BSNL is seeking to transform the services offered by the state-owned telecom company. With the option for offline upgrades and doorstep delivery appointments, users have flexible methods to access BSNL’s high-speed network. If the 5G network is rolled out in more telecom circles, BSNL can be a potent choice for Indian consumers.
