Meta-owned Instagram Threads, a new micro-blogging platform, which has been growing in the past few months, has reached 130 million monthly active users, up 30 million from the last quarter, confirmed the company.

According to the company, Instagram Threads now has 130 million monthly active users, an increase of 30 million from the previous quarter. During the fourth-quarter earnings call, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that Threads is "growing steadily".

"I should point out that more people are currently actively using Threads than there were at the time of its initial launch peak. Thus, I believe that one is headed for great success," he informed analysts. In the first five days of its inception in July of last year, Threads reached 100 million registered users, setting a new record.

But eventually, the interest waned. In the fourth quarter, 3.19 billion people used the Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp app family from Meta, an increase over the previous quarter's 3.14 billion users. As of December 31, 2023, the number of Family monthly active people was 3.98 billion, a 6% rise over the previous year. For the quarter that ended on December 31, Meta brought in $40.1 billion in revenue.

The total revenue for 2023 was $134.90 billion."We had a good quarter as our community and business continue to grow," Zuckerberg stated. "We've made a lot of progress on our vision for advancing AI and the metaverse."As of December 31, 2023, there were 67,317 headcounts, a 22% decline over the previous year.

Meanwhile, the platform has seen a massive surge in the number of downloads in the month of December and has reached the list of top 10 most downloaded apps on both Google Play Store and App Store.
