Apple has already made significant improvements with its latest iOS updates, and the new iOS 17.5 update is now available for eligible iPhones worldwide. The latest iOS 17.5 version includes improvements to Apple News+ and added tracking detection (a much-anticipated safety feature) for iPhone users. In addition, the business started rolling out iPadOS 17.5, macOS 14.5 Sonoma, and other updates for Apple users.

Apple News

The business has added a new offline mode to Apple New+, which allows users to see Today's feed and the News+ tab while on the go and without an active internet connection. Not only that, but the company has introduced Quartiles, a new creative word game for customers. Additionally, Scoreboard in News+ Puzzles provides access to new player statistics for Crossword, Mini Crossword, and Quartiles, such as stats and streaks.

Tracking Notifications

Users will now receive notifications if a compatible Bluetooth tracker that they do not own is travelling beside them, thanks to the new Cross-Platform Tracking Detection, regardless of which operating system the device is paired with.

Third-Party Downloads:

With its previous major update, the company enabled third-party app stores, and now Apple users in the EU can download programs from application creators' websites. However, after reaching a specific threshold, developers must fill out a file with their qualifications and pay a 'Core Technology Fee'.

Other Updates:

Apple has also introduced new Pride collection wallpapers with the latest update and the users can use them in iOS, iPadOS and WatchOS. Not only that, Apple has also made some bug fixes for the users.

iOS 17.5 How To Download:

Go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the prompts to download the latest update.

Meanwhile, Apple is all set for its annual developer event WWDC 2024 wherein it could announce AI features along with other key details. It is scheduled for June 10 and is expected to begin with CEO Tim Cook’s keynote address.
