At WWDC 2024, Apple announced a major update to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. It includes a new control centre, Apple Intelligence, ChatGPT integration with smarter Siri, and user interface changes. However, the company has introduced some features that were not announced at WWDC 2024.

Limit Battery Charge:

Users of the iPhone 15 can now select a charging limit for their device, with choices including 85%, 90%, or 95%. It used to be restricted to 80%.

iOS 18's Smart Dialer

Users of iPhones can now locate contacts with ease. You can use the number pad to type the contact name using Android's T9 dialer. The system will automatically predict the contact; users only need to write the number based on the words.

iOS 18 Highlights

Notes have already received a number of new add-ons, including the ability to create headings within a note and convert them into collapsible sections. The new highlighter tool also has five colour options, which make the text appear more interactive.

Flashlight Beam

iOS 18 now allows the user to adjust the brightness of the torch from the Dynamic Island. To adjust the beam width, users simply turn on the torch, long tap Dynamcic Island, and slide their fingers.

Virtual Power Button

Users will no longer need to memorise combinations thanks to the new virtual power button in the Control Centre. Users can now easily access the power button by swiping down from the upper right corner.

Maths Equation

Math expression is now supported in the Notes application. Users can enter "=" to get real-time answers to queries.

Widget Customisation

With iOS 18, users can now resize the widgets. Long-pressing the home screen will allow users to access a contextual menu with a row of size options.
