iOS 26 Beta 2: Apple has made available the second developer beta of iOS 26, bringing a line of interface adjustments, enhanced accessibility, and minor tweaks to native apps such as Safari, Wallet, and the App Store. It is not an overhaul, but this beta refines the first version unveiled at WWDC 2025.
What’s Changed in iOS 26 Beta 2
One of the more visible updates is in the Control Centre, which now features a background blur that blends more cleanly with the system’s Liquid Glass design. A revised “Reduce Transparency” setting further lowers opacity for users who prefer more contrast in the interface.

In Safari, the New Tab button has been moved to the lower-left corner, restoring a familiar layout from earlier iOS versions. The Compact tab bar now includes both forward and backward navigation buttons for easier browsing.
The App Store now gives developers a way to highlight accessibility features on their app pages, thanks to a new dedicated section.
A new order tracking feature in the Wallet app uses Siri to scan emails and receipts—even from non-Apple Pay purchases—and helps compile delivery information in one place.
Other minor additions in beta 2 include:
- A new ringtone called “Alt 1” under the Reflection category
- A revised description for Low Power Mode in the Apple Music Live Radio widget
- A renamed Live Captions feature, now called “Save Call Transcripts”, which includes a tone alert for participants
- A redesigned Passkey sign-in screen
- Relocated lock screen widgets placed at the bottom
How to Install iOS 26 Beta 2
The update is currently limited to members of the Apple Developer Program. To install it:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
- Select the iOS 26 Developer Beta.
It’s recommended to back up your data before installing, as beta versions can contain bugs or instability.

The public beta is expected to arrive sometime in July, with the final version of iOS 26 likely to be released around mid-September, alongside the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup.
This update adds small refinements rather than sweeping changes, but for developers and testers, it offers a closer look at what to expect in the coming months.
